About Kinyarrow
Kinyarrow’s social mission is to create inclusive literacy experiences for all young readers, envisioning a future where the diversity of children’s learning needs and styles are better understood, and supported. The company is developing an engaging and immersive storybook collection, which features visually dynamic stories that promote safety in the home and community, encourage healthy wellness habits, support adaptive literacy, and help readers build meaningful friendships.
Kinyarrow’s child-centered approach to the design of its picture books ensures that each illustration is tailored to match the specific storyline and messages of the book. These visuals will not only align closely with the text but may also include side-by-side contrasting scenes to help clarify complex themes or highlight important lessons through comparison. To enhance readability and accessibility, the books will use larger, clear fonts, making them suitable for young readers and those with visual or cognitive differences.
The company remains dedicated to ensuring all children see themselves and their environments more represented in meaningful, authentic, and respectful ways. And it’s fully committed to drawing on the real-life experiences of children, especially those with neurodiverse, visual, or cognitive needs, to create impactful stories that are more relatable and reflective of their lived realities.
Kinyarrow’s founder, Z. Z. Özra, is an emerging author who took a bold step away from the traditional publishing path to chart her own course. Disinterested in the lengthy query and waiting process, she decided to create her own publishing company to take full control of her creative journey. Driven by a deep commitment to inclusive storytelling and a determination to bring her vision to life, Özra established her own independent publishing company, Kinyarrow.
